Mango Spring 2012 lookbook

Mango nos trae un lookbook donde la luz es la principal protagonista. La marca española tiñe nuestra primavera 2012 de colores tierra, blancos, azules y pastel en outfits que evocan la colección de s/s 2012 de Isabel Marant.

Light plays the main role in the last Mango lookbook. The Spanish brands dyes our spring 2012 in nude colours, white, blue and pastel colours in outfits that evoke the last s/s 2012 Isabel Marant collection.

Mango también apuesta por la estética setentera, que se queda con nosotros otra temporada más, y los ya clásicos negro y rojo.// Mango also bets on the 70´s trend and the already classic red and black.

New faces: Elisa Nalin

Retomamos la sección de New Faces con una cara que desde hace dos o tres temporadas se ha vuelto famosa entre las voguettes que desfilan hacia los front-rows. No es ni más ni menos que Elisa Nalin, estilista freelance y diseñadora de zapatos. Aunque creció en Verona, su residencia se encuentra en París, donde se trasladó para comenzar su trayectoria.

No sé si será su vena artística, pero domina el color a la perfección. Es la reina del color-block, tal y como muestra en su estilo: no le da ningún miedo mezclar colores como el azul cielo con rojo o el morado con naranja, consiguiendo una armonía cromática que ha conquistado a la cámara de fotógrafos de moda como Garancé Doré, como muestra la primera foto:

Return to the New Faces section with a girl that become famous more or less two or three seasons ago among voguettes. She´s Elisa Nalin, freelance stylist and shoe designer. Tough she grew up in Verona, her home is in Paris, where she moved to start her carreer.

Maybe because of her artistic skills, she uses perfectly the colour. Nalin is the queen of colour-block indeed, as she proves in her style: she mixes without any fear blue and red or orange with purple. As a result, her outfits show a harmony that have conquered the camera of many photographers like Garancé Doré:

A help for iPad

Con la tecnología cada vez más a mano del usuario de a pie, no es de extrañar la proliferación de aparatos de última generación, muchos de ellos procedentes de Apple, como es el caso de los ya comunes iPad.

Sn embargo, blogueros, si lo vuestro no acaba de ser las pantallas sensitivas, memorizad este nombre: Bamboo Stylus. La empresa Wacom , para facilitar la interacción con estas tabletas, ha diseñado un lápiz especial disponible en varios colores. La punta, de color negro, es muy suave y funciona a la perfección con la pantalla de iPad. Además, en la Apple Store podéis encontrar la aplicación Bamboo Paper, que con varias posibilidades de color y de trazo, permite tomar diferentes anotaciones que se asemejan en sumo grado a la escritura real.

Nowadays, technology is readily available for almost everyone, so it´s very common the spread of new devices, many of them from Apple, like the famous iPads.

However bloggers, if you are not very handy with these kind of sensible screens, bear this name in mind: Bamboo Stylus. In order to make the interaction whith these tablets easier, the company Wacom has designed a special pencil available in several colours. The black tip is really soft and works perfectly with the iPad screen. Furthermore, in the Apple Store you cand find the apps Bamboo Paper, in which you can write with different possibilites of colour and lines.

Yo he tenido ocasión de probarlo y desde el punto de vista del dibujo, el Bamboo Stylus resulta muy útil, y aunque al comienzo resulta un poco raro acostumbrarse a la punta (sobre todo si no se ha dibujado con este tipo de tablets antes, como era mi caso), solo es cuestión de práctica. Como resultado, aquí os dejo un par de bocetos, espero que os gusten!

I have been able to test it and I must confess Bamboo Stylus it´s a very useful tool for drawings and illustrations. Altough in the beginning it´s a bit weird to get used to the tip (above all if you haven´t drawn before with this kind of tablets, like me) but it´s just practice. As a result, a pair of my sketches (done with the stylus), hope you like them!

Camel coats

Aunque fue la temporada pasada cuando el camel pisó fuerte, este invierno tampoco nos abandona. De este modo, se adapta a mil prendas como el abrigo para demostrar que es un color muy versátil. Va bien con todo!

Tough it was last season when camel was the most trendy colour, this winter doesn´t leave us. In this way, we can see it in all garments such as the coat in order to prove it´s really versatile: camel matches with everything!

Hawai in my hands

Imaginaos estar debajo de unas palmeras, notando como una suave brisa marina invade los pulmones y los rayos de sol que se reflejan en la arena van progresivamente tostándoos la piel... vale que lo único que tengamos sea niebla y el frío no acompañe, pero esta imagen bucólica no tiene por qué ser imposible de alcanzar. Samudra nos lo pone al alcance de las manos: clutches con evocaciones a la playa hawaiana que pueden dar a nuestros outfits más invernales ese toque veraniego que buscamos.

Se pueden combinar con todo tipo de estampados, y Garance Doré ya tiene el suyo propio:

Imagine you are under the shadow of a pair of palms, feeling how a gentle sea breeze is slowly invading our lungs and the sun beams reflected in the white sand let us get a progresive tanned...ok that the weather is rather different (at least in Europe) but this bucolic image isn´t unachievable. DIY: Glitter booties

La fiebre glitter alcanza todo, y si bien Giuseppe Zanotti nos ofrece unas botas bañadas en purpurina (que se pueden encontrar clónicas en Pull & Bear), en casa podemos apañarnos para hacer de nuestros botines la envidia de los demás.

Glitter fever has affected everything, and if Giuseppe Zanotti offer us a pair of glittery booties (we can find something more affordable at Pull&Bear), we can do a DIY and turn our shoes into the envy of the rest of people.

Hay versiones para todos los gustos, aunque todas siguen un procedimiento similar: mezclar purpurina con cola y extenderlo sobre las botas que hayamos elegido y dejarlo secar. Después se elimina el excedente y se aplica una laca fijadora. Como requisito: toneladas de paciencia.

We can find all kind of versions, but everyone follows the same recipe: mix glue and the glitter and extend it over the chosen booties. Get it dry and spray the shoes with a coat of lacquer, as this will stop the glitter from falling off. Lots of patience are needed.

Mint orange

Aunque suena apetitoso, naranja y menta ya no son dos ingredientes que pueden casar de forma sublime en cualquier postre sino dos de los colores tendencia para el 2012. Así, muchas marcas como Asos o Bimba y Lola se han dejado embaucar por esta mezcla para hacer nuestros outfits deliciosos.

Orange and mint are not two ingredients of a dessert recipe anymore, but two of the most trendy colours for 2012. In this way, brands like Asos or Bimba y Lola offer us a wide variety of items with this mixture in order to make our outfits completely tasteful.
