Mint orange

Aunque suena apetitoso, naranja y menta ya no son dos ingredientes que pueden casar de forma sublime en cualquier postre sino dos de los colores tendencia para el 2012. Así, muchas marcas como Asos o Bimba y Lola se han dejado embaucar por esta mezcla para hacer nuestros outfits deliciosos.

Orange and mint are not two ingredients of a dessert recipe anymore, but two of the most trendy colours for 2012. In this way, brands like Asos or Bimba y Lola offer us a wide variety of items with this mixture in order to make our outfits completely tasteful.

Colour combo

Dos interesantes opciones de mezclas de colores. El primero, gris y neón, para un contraste refrescante y el segundo, nude y verde, para una combinación pastel muyy dulce, especialmente la de la derecha, Late afternoon (por cierto, si no conocéis el blog, os animo a pasaros, es de mis favoritas).

Two interesting colour combos. The first one, grey and fluor, for a refreshing contrast and the second one, mint and nude, for a very sweet mixing, especially the one of the right, worn by Late afternoon (enjoy that bloy, she´s one of my favs).

The secret of colour blocking

Verde y rojo, cyan y amarillo... cuando hemos navegado por las páginas de streetstyle de los últimos desfiles a/w 2011, nos hemos topado con miles de looks repletos de colores y mezclas de tonalidades imposibles. ¿Cómo conseguirlos? Observando algunos de ellos, he sacado la conclusión de que el efecto se puede conseguir a través de los colores complementarios. Para los que no los sepáis, no es más que elegir el que está enfrente de ellos en la paleta cromática, como podéis ver abajo:

Green and red, cyan and yellow... when we have surfed all the streetstyle webpages of the last shows a/w 2011, we have seen thousands of looks plenty of bold colours and aparently impossible hue mixings. How to wear them? Bearing some examples in mind, one of the possible ways is using complementary colours. What are them? Just choose one colour of the chromatic palette (down left), the complementary is the one that it´s opposite it:

Para conseguir el mismo efecto, también se puede recurrir al color que está al lado del complementario: /In order to get this effect, we can use the colour that is next to the complementary one:





Y como de gustos no hay nada escrito, también podemos jugar con las gamas de colores cálidos (desde el rojo hasta el amarillo) y los fríos (desde el verde manzana hasta el morado-magenta) para conseguir total looks muy llamativos.

We can also play with ranges of hot colours (from red to yellow) and cold colours (from that shade of green to purple) to get really outstanding total looks.

Colour remix

Si muchas veces se agotan las ideas para combinar colores de forma original, os propongo una fórmula muy sencilla: usar colores neutros y darle pinceladas de alguno mucho más fuerte, veréis de qué forma destaca. Por ejemplo:
